    Prerequisite:  Familiarity with the Introduction to Emergency Communications course materials is highly recommended.  Attendance of Fundamentals of Emergency Communincations is required.

    Attendees should bring their own printed copy of the course materials.  No handouts will be available at the training.  Handouts may be updated prior to the class and those registered will be notified via email.

    Location of the training: The location for this training is the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety HQ. The GPS coordinates for the “Front Door” of Sunnyvale Dept. of Public Safety HQ are: N 37 22.2412 W 122 2.4012 The physical street address is: 700 All America Way Cross Street is Olive Ave.

    Class attendees will need to show a photo ID (Drivers License or Agency issued ID) to be admitted.

    NOTE:  Depending on the number of participants, class questions and interaction, be prepared for the class to run over the scheduled time by up to 15 minutes.

    Class size is limited to the first 55 people that sign up.

    Monitor AA6BT, 146.115 MHz ,+ offset, PL of 100.0 Hz,  the morning of the class for any changes relative to the class, location, etc.

    Topic: Elecraft’s new K4 Direct Sampling SDR HF Transceiver – a presentation and show and tell, by Eric Swartz (WA6HHQ). Also, all things Elecraft!

    Presenter: Eric is Elecraft’s Chief Operating Officer, a co-designer of Elecraft’s K3S and other transceivers, and co-founder of Elecraft in 1998 with Wayne Burdick (N6KR). Licensed 48 years, he credits his early interest in Amateur Radio with leading him to a career in electronic design and management.

    Eric received a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University, and has been involved in a number of successful Silicon Valley startups.
